Suzanne's Reading Road
Please take a moment to view the pink flyer that came home in your child's folder this week for information. Our class is going to use this unique lending library to check out books geared to each student's reading level. Your participation can allow this wonderful program to continue here at Cedar Point. Thank you!
With the cold weather upon us, we would like to remind you of the delayed opening and school closing procedures for Prince William County. When inclement weather causes road conditions to be hazardous, schools may open late, close early, or close for the entire day. Please listen/watch local radio and television for announcements
of changes in school schedules. The information is posted immediately
to the PWCS website at pwcs.edu and will be shown on PWCS-TV on Comcast channel 18 and Verizon channel 36. Information may also be obtained by calling 703-791-2776.
Please remember that it's very important for your child to wear sneakers on the days on which PE is scheduled. This is a matter of safety. If your child is wearing something besides sneakers, they will not be able to participate in certain activities. It's also a safer option for being out on the playground.
TEACHER PARENT COMMUNICATOR FOLDERS
Please check & empty your child's folder daily.
Damaged Library Books
Parents, our librarian, Mrs. D'Amato, wants us to remind parents that if
a library book is in need of repair to let the library do it. They have special tools and tape for book repair. The students have been told this during library time. Thank you!
On days that your child will be picked up early (i.e. doctor appointment), you must send a note in your child's purple TEACHER PARENT COMMUNICATOR folder.
If your child is going home a different way than usual (i.e. car pick-up instead of bus), you must send a note to school. If there is no note, we will send them home by the usual method.
The office requires us to inform them of different dismissal arrangements.
Money Sent to School
Any time money is sent to school please place it in an envelope or plastic bag WITH your child's name on it and state what it is for. Put it in your child's purple TEACHER PARENT COMMUNICATOR folder and remind your child to leave it in there for Ms. Oliver or Mrs. Sweeney to take out.
Some Administrative Notes:
All visitors and volunteers in the building during school hours must report to the front desk to sign in. Prince William County Schools require that a photo identification be left in the office. A visitor’s badge must be visibly worn at all times. There is no exception to this rule which is intended for the safety and security of all students and staff. Any person without a badge will be escorted to the office.
Invitations to student birthdays are not to be distributed in class.
During a fieldtrip, parents may not transport their child by private vehicle. If a parent attends, they are considered a chaperone and must ride the bus. No siblings are allowed on fieldtrips. Please address any special requests to an administrator.
